Virginia finally brought an end to the interdiction of interracial marriages, while the Supreme Court recognized a marriage between an afro American woman and a Caucasian man.

The Loving couple's struggle made history forty-nine years later, when the Loving Day bacome one of the biggest multiracial celebrations in the United States.
 Throught the last years, the Loving Day has been celebrated on
 June 12th all around the world, mainly in the United States and Europe, where The Netherlands took the initiative.

In this article offer you an overview of the various events organized in Europe, in particular those organized by the associations members of the  European Conference of Binational/bicultural relationships (ECB).  

 

 

The Netherlands is the European country that hosted a Loving Day event. An annual symposium is organized in Amsterdam in the occasion of the Loving Day since 2013. This year an academic conference, lunch, broad-public debate will take place on during the weekend of June 11th and 12thfrom 14:00 p.m to 18:00 p.m (Satutrday) and 18:00 p.m to 21:00 p.m (Sunday)

In Austria, the event is co-organized by the associations FIBEL and Ehe Ohne Grenzen (Marriage Without Borders). Viena will host for the second time a Loving Day celebration. It will consist on a book presentation, discussion, live music and get2gether. If you are interested, you can come visit them on Friday June 10th,from 18:00 p.m to 21:00 p.m at FRAUENHETZ, Untere Weißgerberstraße 41.

In France, the Amoureux au ban public's group based in Lyon is organising The Lovers Ball Special Loving Day on Sunday June 12th  from 14:30 p.m to 22:00 p.m at the Mazagran Place in Lyon's 7th district. On the program: musical reading, tales, serigraphy, pump room, cuisine from various places of the world and, of course, collective reivindications!

In Denmark, the association Ægteskab Uden Grænser (Marriage Without Borders) is organising a special evening dedicated to the freedom of love : conference, testimonies. It will take place Monday June 13th from 20:00 p.m to 22:00 p.m at Copenhaguen's Bremen Teater.
